About Us

Excella Equine Estates and Excella Equine Park are the culmination of a lifelong passion, a dream seeded in childhood and nurtured through decades of dedication, vision, and family legacy.

Lisa Levasseur and her family at the Excella Equine Park barn – Lisa founded Alberta's premier equestrian acreage community.

Excella Equine Estates and Excella Equine Park stand on a foundation built with care, commitment, and a deep-rooted passion for horses. This legacy began with the Levasseurs’ , Lisa's parents, the founders of Excella Arabians.
Excella Arabians was established as a premier training and boarding facility in Stony Plain, Alberta. Under the vision and dedication of the Levasseur family, it quickly gained national recognition for its excellence in horsemanship, breeding, and care. Their unwavering love for Arabian horses wasn’t just a shared family value; it became the cornerstone of a reputation that grew to span North America.
In 1979, the Levasseurs partnered with Baywood Park Ltd. in California, placing Lisa at the heart of the international equestrian scene. Over the next eight years, Lisa and the Excella Arabians program produced remarkable champions, including five Top Ten National Champions, two National Champions, and a Reserve National Champion in disciplines ranging from Halter to English Pleasure and Driving.
Today, Excella Equine Estates and Excella Equine Park continue that legacy, blending world-class horsemanship with a modern, mindful approach to equestrian lifestyle and land stewardship.

Lisa J. Levasseur is a Canadian-born businesswoman, artist, and lifelong equestrian with deep roots in the Arabian horse world. She began her journey by training under top professionals in California before returning home to establish Excella Arabians, where she bred and trained multiple National Champions.
In 2010, Lisa discovered a natural talent for painting, leading her to pioneer PaletteArt™, an eco-friendly art style that repurposes recycled paint into textured, three-dimensional pieces. Her work has gained international recognition, earning awards and placement in galleries and museums alongside icons like Picasso and Dali.
After facing health challenges, Lisa directed her creativity towards the hospitality industry. She helped grow her family’s business into the INNhotels brand, now a collection of independent properties across Western Canada.
Today, she leads Excella Equine Estates, Excella Equine Park, LJL Galleries, and the Rocky Mountain Art Tour—bringing together her passions for horses, art, and community into meaningful spaces that embody her belief in sustainable living, approachable excellence, and lifelong learning.
The Estates are more than a place to live; they thoughtfully reflect her enduring connection to horses and her vision to create a supportive, inspiring equestrian community for others to enjoy.
